    Uggh.

I hate being sick. This cold went from worse to the couldyoubelieveit-even-worse. I was hacking up a storm three nights in a row, and had to sleep in separate rooms from my wife, who needs sleep as much as I do. Due to this, I've been unable to get my exercise in... and in such tremendous weather! It's awesome to see results on a consistent basis, but it's heartbreaking when those results are curtailed by things beyond your control.

    Overexertion while being sick

I was still never able to shake this cold. Over the past few nights, it got worse, from my chest to my nasal passages... especially that nasty drip that leads me to cough, while trying to sleep. On Sunday, I had to do major chores, and it seemed like I was running around crazily. Being unable to do a strength workout again, I was able to do my lawn duties--but the grass had grown so high that it wasn't fully dried out from the night before, and it just kept clogging the mower. So what normally would've taken 45 minutes took over two hours. Plus, I then had to make babyfood for my twins, and I made four recipes in a row (breakfast rice, baby's first chili, shepherd's pie and meatballs--made for the freezer), not to mention brewed more iced tea. When it was all over and done, I didn't even muster the strength to make our own Sunday meal, so we had take out. The extra work paid off as my exercise, as I was able to lose a few more tenths-of-a-pound. But it's sure wrecking havoc on ridding of this cough.

    Over the weekend...

I knew I was going to fall (a little) over the weekend. I had a gig, after which I chose to drive back home (3 hours late night), and knew I had to fill up on sugar and caffeine to keep me awake. Problem was, I was too tired to do my once-a-week HIT workout Saturday morning. Living off of three hours sleep, my workout was yard work (both days), due to a small tornado that passed thru our area, leaving massive amount of debris on our lawn. Lots of lifting and breaking, not much else. But yesterday I forgot to print out my PocketPod Weight Tracker, so I felt free to indulge a little more. Ugh. Hard to keep straight without being held accountable. Now I feel like I got all that out of my system, and I hope gyminee will help me keep strong. One caveat: doesn't seem to be a whole lot of TotalGym owners on this site. Nor do many people here subscribe to the High-Intensity-Training model. I have to find out how to make this work...
