No More Excuses
Wow - it sounds like you are taking a little bit of your own advice, here! :) Well, the more specific people are, the less wiggle room they have to make excuses. Also, getting an exercise buddy is a great way to stay committed to a program. You feel more accountable for your actions! Great thoughts! :)

NO MORE EXCUSES!
People are constantly making up excuses about why they don't work out and why they don't have a healthy diet. One excuse I hear all the time is that I don't have the time. This goes along with both areas. People in our “on the go" culture jam pack their days with so much that they don't have the time to exercise or eat right. People often eat fast food at least 3 times a week. The next reason I hear is I can't afford it. People think that they need to have a gym membership to exercise. This is not the case. Simply walking through your neighborhood is a great exercise and it's much more enjoyable than walking on a treadmill. Third, People procrastinate. It's always "I'll do it tomorrow." Before you know it, all the tomorrows have turned into years. My 9th grade History taught us an important lesson in procrastination. He told us, "Tomorrow never comes." Fourth, people don't set a schedule an exact time and place to work out. This is my problem. I need to put exercising on my calendar as if it was a meeting or doctor’s appointment. This makes it so that you are in the habit of working out at your designated time and have NO excuses to skip it because you forgot. Starting this Monday (I work out Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays so I'm not procrastinating lol) I have set a schedule to go to the gym with my workout partner. I have joined a gym that has a Kids Klub so I can take my kids so there's no excuse there. We will go to the gym at 11AM on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday each week, with bonus Saturday in there when I can.

SMART GOALS
You sound very enthusiastic about improving your lifestyle, as well as, those of your family/kids. First thing about your SMART goals that I'd encourage you to is break it down even further... You say you'll buy whole, nutritious foods... but that's too broad. Simply say "When buying bread, I'll choose whole wheat" or "I'll no longer purchase Hi-C fruit juice, instead I'll opt for XYZ juice with less sugar." The more specific you are, the better. Your exercise goals seem very specific - you've indicated time, days per week, and the type of exercise you plan on doing! Very good! :)

Visions and Smart Goals
Some of my health and wellness goals is to lose weight and eat right so I can pass on that knowlege to my children. Weight is something that I've struggled with my entire life. I need to get out of a size 20! I'm so tired of looking in the mirror and being discusted. For Eating right: My S.M.A.R.T Goal is: I will start buying whole, nutritious foods that are free from high fructose corn syrup (where possible) and stop buying junk food! I can't afford to throw away all the foods that have HFCS in them, but I will not buy them anymore. I will start replacing French Fries with carrots of another crunchy Veggie. I will not eat fast food! I will start gradually. I can not afford to get rid of everything in my house and start from scratch. I will start replacing the unhealthy foods, with foods that are better for you. There isn't really a time table to set for eating healthy. Exercise/ Physical activity My S.M.A.R.T Goal is: I exercise At least 3 times a week for 1 hour. I can achieve this by: ~Going to the Gym at least 3 times a week. ~Taking my kids in a stroller and on a walk around the neighborhood As a result of my activity, I hope to lose weight
