5-HTP to the Rescue
I started taking 5-HTP the last week in March and it has changed my body chemistry. No more sweet cravings or impulsive eating. This week I've lost 3 lbs. I feel like this may be just what I need to keep going.

Breakthrough?
It's been hot. I've been working in the yard the last few days. Got on the scale today and it showed 229.8! I was shocked. Haven't been to the gym since Wednesday. Maybe it's finally the moment to break through the plateau.

On Vacation
It is so hot and humid here, that it is hard to eat. Drinking TONS of water, eating lots of salad and very light foods, except last night, which was lasagna. My computer crashed so I haven't had much opportunity to record here. Been walking, doing AT in the yard and using family's dumbells. We are one block from the Duke University East Campus and we "walk the wall", as it's known. It takes about an hour and given the 90+ degree temperatures, I think I sweat off a couple of pounds. We'll see when I get back. Family does not have a scale here, so I'm judging by how far myh pants are fallng off my butt. :-) See you on the 10th!

Eating More
Took Bonnie's advice (with my own twist) and am eating more calories. Of course, it's the wrong types of food, but I'm going to try it for a couple of days. After teaching myself to quit when I'm full, now I'm forcing myself to eat more. This all seems crazy to me, but I may as well try!

June 10, 2009 Workout Outside
On June 10, 2009 I shoveled discarded roofing material from a garage for 2 hours. Shoveling, carrying garbage can full (40 lbs.+) to dumpster and dumping must account for some calorie burning. There was no comparable activity to record on Daily Burn.
