Back into it
Finally getting back into some sort of workout routine after nearly two weeks. Spent the time moving across country from CA to DC. Now that I'm getting settled, I can at least start running, but I can't use my new school's gym until school starts in three weeks. So I'm going to be putting in the miles! Can any Washingtonians in Daily Burn Land recommend some good routes? Moving into my new place in Adams Morgan on Saturday so I'm definitely going to be hitting Rock Creek Park pretty heavy.

Fit for 30
I turned 29 last week. Currently I'm in the best shape of my adult life, but I want to finally meet all those goals of cut muscled glory that have been swirling in my head for years. And I want to do it by the time I turn 30. Let's take a quick look at my fitness history. Ages 5-15: Played youth soccer, was overweight as a kid, played mostly defender and goalie. Ages 15-18: Sat on my ass, got really fat. Ages 18-24: Went to college, started eating less, took up smoking and drinking. Lost weight, but was still overweight. Age 24-28: Started cycling to and from campus. For the first couple of years, this was 8 miles round trip, after that 18 miles. Still smoking off and on, got trimmer (still overweight), but still not strong. Age 28-28.5: Had quit smoking by this point, and started seriously cycling, but hadn't really started building strength. So I finally decided to put on some lean mass. Started lifting weights, and decided to bulk (at this point my BF% was approx. 21). Made a not unintelligent exercise (though it focused a lot on single joint movements) and nutrition program. Age 28.5-29: Started the Strong Lifts program which focuses on big compound movements (squat, deadlift). After about a year of weight training, I had cut 6% BF and gained 25 lbs of lean mass. I now weigh more by 15 lbs, but am noticeably trimmer and more muscular. Age 29: Here are my goals for year 29. Cut down to between 10 and 12% BF. Improve my squat and deadlift by at least 100lbs. Improve my overhead press and bench press by 75 lbs (I have always had a lot of trouble with these lifts). I don't have any lean mass goals except to gain enough to enable my strength goals. Here we go!
