Quadlex's Journal
Yeah, I did the Engineer thing and went "The readings show X. X is highly improbable. The other evidence (My size and weight) are not significantly changed, ergo the readings are flawed" Once it's obviously I've lost most of the fat I'll go to the Doctorb and see about getting real reading.

Body fat and water retention
Don't worry about your body fat too much. you'll probably find it's due to cheap scales. Mine do the same thing. At home my body fat is 28% (and you've seen my pics) and at the gym it's more like 12-14. On my home scales I'm 28% in the morning (when the body is dehydrated) and about 22% in the evenings. the extra 6-8% difference between the gym scales is due to my home scales not having an "athletic" setting.

Spike of doom
Lol the spike of doom. That week from Xmas eve through to new years day I had BBQ's and general drinking beer and eat garbage every day but one. I'd say I'm in muscle gain phase right now, as I'm eating lots of protein and topping up with two shakes a day. That said I'm keeping my calorie intake around 2000, which is too low for true muscle gain. Throw in the cardio and weights each day and I'm about 1200 calories below my basal metabolic rate each day.

Sore. Bash. Ouch.
So, this weekend bash both helped and hindered. Helped, because Karingal is rocky and racing is exhausting. Hindered because due to a lack of committment by my crew, it was only me and Matt, so I couldn't spare time to make healthy food and had to eat burgers. Still, recoverable. AND we came Second, which is *awesome*

Body Fat
The weird thing is, my body fat, 2 weeks ago, was around the 28% mark. Then, *overnight*, it shot up to 36%. So either my scale WAS or IS broken, because it's not dropped from there since.
