    ugh!

    i so ruined my streak of buring more than i eat! my "dot" makes me want to eat everything in sight, not to mention that working out makes me hungry too. and the choices in front of me today were not the healthiest. my father in law took us out to dinner and ICE CREAM tonight. i had a mixed green and strawberry salad with pecans which was awesome, i got the SMALL size and then ordered aidan his "sausages" and we "shared" that. i put not even half a sausage on a SMALL plate with not even half a pancake and a spoon of kraut..kept the portions decent and took a HUGE box home for jim for lunch tomorrow. the ice cream, however, was a hard one. i did manage to leave about HALF of it in the bowl for joe..but am sure that it put me well over my mark for the day. it wouldn't have been bad, but i ran at home for the first time, and i'm not sure how my programs work on my elliptical. i only did 30 minutes and burned only 150 calories. i did do my free weights workout too. i promise i am doing 45 minutes running tomorrow and i need to to the core exercises. i hope that the nice uberskinny gal is working tomorrow because i want to ask her to help me with using the machines..must burn like 1500 calories tomorrow..i do plan on painting some more..i know i have to be doing something right because my muscles are SORE! haha, my damn scale hates me though!

    update

    i wanted to start the core part of my 31 day bootcamp training yesterday, and did my running at the gym and planned on doing the core routine at home, but got sidetracked by a gallon of white paint and a livingroom in desperate need of a fresh new look. so i spent the entire afternoon painting and figured a got a bit of a core workout that way. i finished a third wall this morning and each wall had two coats of paint! i am sore right now..ouch!

    Feel the BURN baby!

    So i ran yesterday for 45 minutes and burned over 500 calories. i used the smaller elliptical. the one that has the moveable arm thingies. (yeah i'm a real gym pro) i burn more calories in the same amount of time on this one. it has the flat feet things, not the ones that tilt. i go back and forth between the two. i just signed up for the 31 day bootcamp and friday will be my first day of incorporating core into my workout. the bootcamp regime has you doing cardio and core one day and free weights the next. gaby suggested it for me. she and jake are work out guru's. i am so excited to be on my way. it's a gray rainy day here today. i have no motivation at all, but funny I DO want to run, i can feel my body already getting excited about it, and it's not even a running day. i may have to clear off that elliptical...:-)

    so it's pretty crazy when you sit down and start tracking all you eat. i ended up not even eating my cereal and milk this morning..bad i know, but i ran out of time and had to get aidan to preschool. grandpa and aidan and i went to (gasp) steak and shake for lunch and boy did it EVER come in HANDY having this app with me. i drank two big glasses of water (no pop or shake) and put half my meal into a togo box as soon as it hit the table. i work tonight so will end up eating some steamed veggies so i can get my veggies for the day in. will have to eat an apple and maybe some tuna salad on crackers before work. it's funny how hard it seems to achieve the calorie goal when you are THINKING about all you eat. i am loving this so far!

    Day # 1

    I just started back to the gym two weeks ago. I just found this app last night. So today is in essence, day number one for me. I have been using the elliptical and cross trainer 3-4 days a week for the last two weeks. average run time 30-45 minutes and calories burned 275-325. I have my workouts lined up and just need to get someone at the YMCA to go over the actual excercises with me and show me how to use the various machines. they say that you should alternate cardio with weight training, but i only have the three or 4 days a week to work out, and quite honestly i LOVE running. is there a way to to both in a single day?

i am a married mother of one, getting ready to turn 41. i am so busy that most of the time, i don't even know what day of the week it is. i started working out the day my son started preschool (2 weeks ago). i am determined to get down to my pre-baby weight and meet my fourties head on.
