    getting back on track

I have hit a plateau, although with being sick for the last two weeks, it's been hard not to snack here and there... must be a mental thing. At least I haven't gained any weight! Time to get back on tracking my food and exercise every day.

    Woohoo!

Another week of decent dieting capped off by a gorgefest for Easter and I still lost another 3 pounds! Down a total of 13 since I have been weighing myself 3 weeks ago and down I would say at least 20-25 pound from before the kidney stone. Pants are starting to get really loose and almost time to go to the next notch in the belt!

    Without effort!

Well, I have had a rough two weeks of real life distractions. I haven't had the energy much less the time to get any of my workouts in, and I have had a few cheat days, yet I still lost 4 more pounds for a total of 10 pounds since I started weighing myself less than 2 weeks ago. That is definitely an encouragement. I was expecting a plus number. Time to get back on track this week!

    More Encouragement from Mom...

I've been doing this "odd" little thing lately and it's not just healthy...it's actually fun...makes me feel like a kid again. Try it and see if it works for you, k? Whenever I make a sandwich, I make it just the way I had them when I was a kid. A smidge of peanut butter and a schmear of jelly, or a slice of cheese between 2 slices of bread, then a quick sizzle on the grill to make it hot and melty. Then, when I eat it, I eat it like I did when I was a kid. I take my time with it, I savor small kid sized bites and amazingly, a skinny sandwich like that makes me feel BETTER than I ever did with a fully loaded adult sized one that I scarfed down in four bites! It seems to be working with dinner foods too. Less pasta, more enjoyment. Smaller hunks of chicken, more time chewing and savoring. Let me know if it works for you too, ok?

    Warning:

Anything I say for the next few days must be taken with a grain of salt and a roll of the eyes - especially if it's unintelligible or makes no sense at all. Blame it on the heavy doses of nsaids and benedryl that I'm taking to relieve the pain in my back, ok? =)
