About Me
more than losing weight, I want to lose girth and feel tight, lean and mean again! I know if I concentrate on detoxing, and eating clean and mostly raw foods, I will feel light. Right now, I feel lumpy and heavy.

yet another "blow it" day WED 2/3/10
My body is aching for nutrition. I did an "oil pull" this morning, but with all the carbs I've been eating, my neck was super sore today. Got to get some nutrition! And do a detox to undo all the bad carbs!! I drank an Ionic Fizz Magnesium w/MSM & 1000 mg vitamin C before bed, along with 3 chlorella tablets. Needed some nutrition!

Talk about a "blow it!" day!! 2/2/10 Tues
No excuse. got a good start yesterday, but then had a bag of chips and the rest of the day is a big junk food blur. Good thing I got 1.5 hours of walking in. Not EVEN gonna weigh myself until tomorrow (Thursday) Today I took Thurman to Tio's Tacos, and had chips & salsa and a hibiscus/lemon drink....probably full of sugar. Think I'll just try and eat salad today. Maybe a smoothie later. But I need to cleanse!!

personal program & www.nutritionaldata.com
Today I weighed 129 with 26% body fat. I am incorporating a few personal change-ups in this program. I have decided this program is asking me to eat far too many protein grams. I researched my 2 most trusted sites www.mercola.com and www.naturalnews.com, and I am setting a new goal for myself, anywhere between 50 and 75 grams (instead of minimum 100) and I hope to get them from animal friendly sources (happy raw milk, happy chickens, or free range meat, etc.) I also learned that 3T ground flax seed = 1T Flax oil. I was considering using less in my smoothies, but the health benefits of flaxseed outweigh -pardon the pun- the extra fat calories, so for now, I will put 3T of ground flax per smoothie. I plan on experimenting with lowering my fat grams, but will continue eating fats high in EFA's, and see how that affects my stats. Since fat does not affect insulin, the only effect of eating too many fats will be my thighs. Better a healthy heart and brain than thin thighs! My carbs will be as grain-free as possible (and most def, wheat free) while I concentrate on getting my carbs from veggie sources. Here is my new fave site for nutritional data: www.nutritiondata.com I like it because it shows me how to make the best choices based on nutritional density, rather than just elementary counts of the basics (protein, fat, carbs) It has vitamin and mineral breakdown, as well as EFA, glycemic index, fiber and more. I am more committed to experiencing vibrant health than I am attached to a certain weight. Onward and upward!

Still no major progress
I gained more weight this morning 131.5 lbs, at 25% body fat. Not worried, cuz like I said, I'm still just toying around, and not real committed yet. Soon. Very soon! Mostly this site has served the purpose of making me aware of what I am consuming. I find myself still eating the same way I normally do. I eat a lot! And way too much fat. I would have been ok today had I NOT had the pecan pie. I did concentrate on eating more protein today, almost made my goal, but the only way I did it was by eating MEAT. I am not thrilled about eating meat, but I also know soy is one of the most polluted foods (often genetically modified, unless it's organic), so no soy 4 me! Don't know if I need that much protein really, but I do remember when I did the Zone, which was sort of high protein, I got lean quickly. Still snacking on processed food (2 granola bars, not good choices) I'm not crazy about eating so much animal protein. It makes for a polluted planet, and a polluted body, plus I don't think the animals are respected. Exception: raw milk. These cows are my neighbors, and they are happy. Oh, and my eggs are from happy chickens here on the Ranch.

I gained a pound!
No worries though. I suppose I should not weigh myself daily. Today was 131 lbs and 25% body fat. Of course, I did drink 2 glasses of water before I weighed in. (excuse?) Ok, I know I eat lots of healthy fat, but I'm clocking in at up to 80 fat grams daily. That sounds like A LOT, healthy fat or not!! Maybe that's why my thighs won't go away! I'm still not completely committed (verified by pecan pie today, as well as McDonald's soft serve cone) But I'm working on getting there!
