About Me
I'm 37 and through a lifetime of yo-yo dieting I've managed to diet my way to 265 at 5'3". After getting my physical saying my cholesterol was high, I decided that I wanted to take a slow, lasting change to care for my body. What's most important to me is continuing to keep myself out of the way of diabetes, lower my LDL while continuing to maintain my high HDL and ridiculously low triglycerides, and basically just do the best I can with what I've got.

Ugh
Between the holidays and the severe downturn then death of my mother, I'm afraid to step on a scale. I'll just put it this way, I'm pretty sure I've gained back anything I've lost. So lets just start from the beginning, again, shall we?

Keep at it!
Looks like you go through cycles just like me.... I think most people lose weight over a few days and then they plateau or gain a bit. Yours are a bit drastic, maybe you're like me... I seem to often make the mistake of being really good for 4 or 5 days, and then I kind of go nuts. I have to resist the urge. What I do is try to figure out the best kinds of foods to "go nuts" on... haha. The foods that go through pretty quick. There are plenty of foods. But just an example, if you have to go nuts on a dessert, make it a fruity one like apple pie instead of cheesecake. lol, i know, it's crazy, but this helps me not gain so much weight in a few days. Also, let's say I could eat a whole bag of chips. Instead of that, I get some Sabra hummus and olives and pita. Call me nuts, but it seems to help out with my crazy urges. Then again, I'm a guy, so it could be some physiological differences that make you spike up. The thing I notice is that you seem to have a consistent drop over time... and that's good! If it works, keep at it!

Toffee chocolate covered macadamia nuts
Someone from the office just returned from Hawaii with a bag of these. I've been making a meal out of them all morning. My blood test from my physical next week is gonna suck.
