    Going Slow

I'm back to doing the treadmill (4/6/8s). And because I'm doing it right before I lift, I'm already gassed. I decided to lighten up on the weights and do slow intentional reps instead of just knocking them out. I'm finding it really hard and sometimes like today, I can't even finish my routine. It's OK though because I've decided that I should be exercising for health reasons and not just to see how strong I can get. I also noticed that I'm feeling some hip pain, so I need to be careful.

    Simplifying Things

I decided to go back to logging my exercises on the Tracker the same way I do in my log book. So, I will not be adding my body weight to exercises like dips. I also will not be doubling the reps on excises that I do one arm or leg at a time and finally, I will not be doubling the weight on dumbbell exercises where I do both arms at the same time. FYI, while I was doing dips last week with 75 pounds strapped around my waste, the dip belt broke. I shot up so quick that my arms hyper extended. They hurt pretty bad at first but now they seem to be OK. I made a new dip belt out of a piece of chain and a swimming pool noodle. It looks ridiculous but works great. I'm probably going to change out the noodle with some foam rollers made for a gym. This was not my idea, I got it from YouTube.

    Another Toy

I just bought a commercial leg press that was made by the same company that made my multi gym (Body Masters). It's a beast! I'll post a picture of one like it, mine's taken apart. I'm hoping to get it back together this weekend.

    Finally

I finally finished modifying my new gym and actually used it today. YES!!! I did the thing to double the weight for the low pulley but didn't really work out. I had to make another mod because the pull length was way to short. So now I have a good pull length but the weight isn't doubled. I'll put up some pics to show my mods. Either way it's a great machine and I'm loving it. My shoulder is still really messed up and I'm kind of wondering if it will ever heal. Regardless, it's time to get back with the program.

    Gym Modifications

Well, I reassembled my new weight machine and started to use it. It turns out, the way the high / low pulley cable was ran reduces my 275 lb stack by 50%. So, I took that part of the gym back apart to reroute the cable. I cut the cable, moved 3 pulleys and I'm going to add another pulley. If everything I've done works the way I want it to, the high pulley will be 275 lbs and the low pulley will be doubled to 550 lbs. The only problem is that I had to order the extra pulley and wont get it back together until it come in. So basically I will not be working out for another week or so.
