About Me
I'm young at heart and old in the how my face looks. But, at least my body can look young right? April 2009 Recently realized that I've never actually had a six-pack in my life. I've always wanted to be extra lean and moderately muscular. Well, I also just realized that if I don't put in the effort today then it will be twice as hard to do it tomorrow. I'm looking forward to having kids with my girlfriend and really, really, really want to be a good role model. So the next few years are being heavily invested into building myself into the best person possible. I don't ever want to be one of those parents that says "don't do what I do, do what I say". So being extremely healthy is a great start :) So far Gyminee has been phenomenal for me. When I track things I do very well at adhering to my goals. When I don't track things I start to slide down the slippery slope of a pizza here, day off there and before I know it I've gained 10 pounds and two inches on my waist (no kidding at all). April 2010 Wow, lots can change in 12 months. Back in September 2009 I had a close call with death and decided to actually get serious about health and fitness. I hired a personal trainer and aimed to compete (and win 1st place) in a natural bodybuilding competition in April 2010. Well, the time has come and gone. In 7 months, with help from my amazing trainer, I was able to completely transform my body into a pretty awesome result. The body change has been great, yet the personal changes have been greater. I've learned so much about character, focus, nutrition and fitness that I think about these things throughout my entire day. My meals are WAY healthier than they've been and I feel unbelievably better and stronger than ever. I blog about my fitness (and other life) lessons at www.spidercam.ca

I'm back...
After traveling through Europe for a few months, gaining a bunch of weight and coming back to Canada I've been back in the gym since October... lost 12 lbs and have 8 weeks until the next competition. It's on March 19 in Richmond, BC Canada. I'm hoping to get more ripped than last time, an putting everything I have into this and will see what happens. Dailyburn has been a great community for me so I'd like to get involved here again too.

Sure
I am doing 30-40 min cardio every morning before I start my weight training. Cardio and back today was 1hour 40 min. I have dropped all unnecessary fats out of my diet and went from eating 4000+ calories to about 3000 that consists of protein 40%, carbs 40%, and fats less that 20%. But I still eat a couple of servings of peanut butter per day. What do you think and what is your plan?

Thanks for being a Motivator for me...
Much appreciated - you definitely had a plan and accomplished it very well. As mentioned, I now realize how valuable a good personal trainer can be. Now, for me, it's simply putting in the time and effort and being patient with the inevitable results ... it's quite remarkable how sensitive my body responds to nutritional changes, once I start to see some real progress I think I may consult with a sport nutritionist. How about you, did you consult with a dietician to get to 'competition form' or self taught?

Back on the wagon...
Hey man... I've been slacking for way too long, but my reward to myself for getting myself a new job was to enroll in Crossfit. It's been good so far, but I knew that heavy diet-change was just around the corner again... And the big diet change push started yesterday. Needing help with tracking, I find myself back here on DailyBurn. ;-). Nice to be back here in good company and as always, your dedication is truly inspiring. Looking forward to seeing you this weekend.
