    Good ride in

Not my fastest, but a good ride because I was able to stay down in the race position for most of it. The time would have been better if I did not have to trace the cause of spoke entanglement. Loose step on the pannier bag.

    Big loss for the week

Today was the day the scales rewarded me for my efforts, 2.2 lbs! This puts me one pound away from 35 lbs since January of this year, and down 26 since joining DB in July of 2008, but 3 lbs away from my best of 233 lbs. All of these are not quite the mid-point on this particular journey, but they are significant accomplishments just the same. I will likely reward myself with a favorite meal once I hit a total of 50 lbs lost (16 away). Not much sleep again last night but it is the weekend so I should get a good seven or eight hours for the next three nights. Hope to get to the gym tomorrow and/or Sunday but wife is getting sick. Reboot diet with all of its wonderful micronutrients and regular exercise would appear to be helping me fight off what everyone else in the household has caught. Looks to be the start of a great day and weekend, rain has stopped and I have a nice dry bike commute in front of me. :)

About Me

While I have always enjoyed physical activity I was never more than an average athlete, perhaps it was the childhood asthma, maybe it was poor coaching, or perhaps I was just lazy. After completing college I became more structured in my exercise, and ever since I have gone through two year cycles where I go to the gym 3+ days a week, followed by a similar period where I just can not find the time. Usually it is career change or a continental move that causes this. With the arrival of twin daughters in 2007, and after attaining my greatest weight ever I made the decision that if I did not do something about my physical condition immediately I might not be able to keep up with them by the time they reached their second birthday. A very sobering and depressing thought. The usual aches and pains ensued, but instead of being hooked on exercise after three weeks it took a full eight weeks. Exercise while not a passion, is once again a required source of enjoyment and balance in my life. The discovery of DailyBurn has tapped into my competitive nature and helped me visualize my progress as well as motivate me. Currently my focus is building cycling stamina and weight loss.
