    That Wonderful Dwindling Waist Size

Awesome job on keeping motivated and continuing to shed pounds. I have a feeling you won't be needing that "in case of emergency" vacuum bag of pants. If anything, you'll be adding more to it! Keep it up. I'm so happy for you! And thank you for the encouragement this week. Mon-Wed is always a tough time for me to get in a workout. I did get one in last night though. :)

    Good Spin class

Picking up intensity and enjoyment. Getting out of the saddle more and starting to challenge myself by cranking up the resistance.

    Tiny steps

Pushed ever so slightly past the 238.8 best of last week. Because of heavy rain no commute by bike, but I am all set for a noon spin class. Looking forward to working up a sweat. Found my 42 and 40s in the closet, wore 42 today and have to synch the belt tight to avoid pulling them up constantly. These and others will get slipped into a vacuum bag this weekend and marked to break open in case of an emergency. If I get to 230 Lbs next week it will mean going to 38s or 36s. Woot!

About Me

While I have always enjoyed physical activity I was never more than an average athlete, perhaps it was the childhood asthma, maybe it was poor coaching, or perhaps I was just lazy. After completing college I became more structured in my exercise, and ever since I have gone through two year cycles where I go to the gym 3+ days a week, followed by a similar period where I just can not find the time. Usually it is career change or a continental move that causes this. With the arrival of twin daughters in 2007, and after attaining my greatest weight ever I made the decision that if I did not do something about my physical condition immediately I might not be able to keep up with them by the time they reached their second birthday. A very sobering and depressing thought. The usual aches and pains ensued, but instead of being hooked on exercise after three weeks it took a full eight weeks. Exercise while not a passion, is once again a required source of enjoyment and balance in my life. The discovery of DailyBurn has tapped into my competitive nature and helped me visualize my progress as well as motivate me. Currently my focus is building cycling stamina and weight loss.
