StrongSoundLaura's Journal
Staying True to the Food Journal
I have always known that keeping a food journal is key to brining weightloss awareness to the forefront but today I'm amazed at how easy it is to loose track. How mindlessly I can eat if I'm tired or my scheduled changed. Like today, for instance, I had CPR training for healthcare providers from 8am untill 2pm without a break to eat. I could bring snacks. I brought a bannana and nuts because I lacked a cold lunchbox. For breakfast I had coffee and wheetabix cereal with soy. When I got home at 4:00pm I was very hungry. Looking through the cupboards and the refrigerator everything I could eat required some sort of preparation and I was already tired. So, I reached for a just few potato chips and a sour cream dip! Now, when I eat 2-3 hours a day, I would never reach for this but because I was so tired and didn't want to prepare anything. Bam, I fall off the eating-clean diet wagon. I didn't loose myself though, I ate a handful and about 1 Tbsp. I told myself, "It's ok because today I had a different schedule" then I said no to myself. This is what lifestyle change is all about. Making choices when our schedule changes, when we are bone tired, loss of energy, etc. So what am I going to do? Stock my cupboards with a powerbar or quick shake that I can whip up and get the energy I need to prepare some real nutrient dense foods! Goal #1 Eat Clean. Goal #2 Eat nutrient dense foods even when schedule changes or I'm tired!
