    Goood news for me ...

Fram time to time I try to find someone on daily burn who has lost a lot of weight and has stayed off for a long time - just to be assured it is actually possible. So, I found your public profile - and wow, you did it!! Congratulations. I will regularly check in to assure that someone did it.

    Intentional Weight Gain???

Well with the golf season over, I am now hitting the gym again. Instead of simply doing cardio, I decided to do much more weight training which can only be beneficial to my overal fitness and to my body's base caloric burning capacity. It is very weird for me to want (no be disappointed) to see the number on the scale increase. I started a weight training program with the goal of increasing my muscle mass to both get stronger and increase my base caloric burn / day. Apparently to optimize your results you have to eat more than your base daily caloric burn in order to intentionally gain weight. That new weight is supposed to be muscle as opposed to fat like it normally would when you simply eat more than you should. The creatine loading process of last week is most likely responsible for the 2 lbs gain from last week as it is supposed to load up your muscles with some "water". Need to see what this week should do... I don't think gaining 2lbs of muscle a week is normal so I'm gonna keep a close eye on this.

A 360 degree life change in 365 days!

It's been a full year since I decided to change my ways and lose weight and start excercising. In those 365 days I've lost over 90 lbs and have been maintaining it for over 6 months now. I've learned to run a 5K in about 37 minutes, joined a gym and I'm going regularly. I restarted downhill skying and am now playing golf again. This spring I've been to Dominican republic, Vegas and a business trip to Biloxi all without gaining a pound simply by eating out smart and still doing a bit of excercise. It wasn't easy getting here, It took a whole lot of excersice. The first six months to lose the weight I was doing about 1 hour of cardio a day and eating about 1500 calories which meant passing on alot of foods I would have normally eaten. But like Einstein said, you can't fix something with the same mindset that was used to cause the problem. The two main tools that helped me loose the weight and are helping me keep it off are www.dailyburn.com and my heart rate monitor. I couldn't be happier of my success, I feel great and I am enjoying living an active lifestyle. On my 1 year anniversary of my life change, last night while playing golf I got a HOLE IN ONE!!! a great gift from the higher powers to reward me for my hard work! 2010-MAY-31 Weight = 260 lbs 5K = Are you nuts, walking 1K would be very painfull! Gym = I wish, but I wouldn't belong 2011-MAY-31 Weight = 168 lbs 5K = 37:15 Gym = About 3 times a week when not golfing To myself I say, good going, you did great now just keep it up and don't loose focus. You're health is important and it's worth putting effort towards it. KEEP IT UP!!! ;-)

    Back from vacation

I just got back from a week long vacation in Punta Cana. It was my first week off of dailyburn since I started using it last june. It goes without saying that I overate at the all inclusive resort and gained about 2 lbs. All things considered it was still a victory. I stayed active by swimming, walking and playing golf. Even though I overindulged, I didn't go overboard. Starting back on the program and will surely lose the couple lbs in no time. I'm not too worried about the few pounds because I'm still below my goal weight but I just don't want to get in the trend of forgiving weight gain.
