Back in action!
Amazing how FAST time flies! Can't believe it's been a year since I last logged on or posted anything here but lots happened. Had some ups and downs but now is a time for rebirth and action. I've started a NEW 12-week program that's medically supervised at Cedars Sinai and seeing a trainer 2x week plus other daily cardio. I'm documenting everything in a new blog (http://mylifeonamealplan.wordpress.com) and it's not that it's a great read, but rather for Accountability. I'm putting more effort and more intention and God-willing some great things will all come about soon! Thank you motivators!! xo

Feeling sore on Day 3
So it's been 3 days and been feeling great. The carbs are gone and I've been feeling the need to eat more. It's hard to not reach for something with carbs but I've come to love celery for the crunch! Yesterday had a monster upper body workout and been feeling the soreness but it's all good. Today the heavy lifting will be furniture. Note: Also been cooking a lot lately and enjoying my latest purchase a Le Creuset pan. Makes cooking a joy and not eating out less painful.

Back at it! Day 2 - Restart
OK, when last I wrote I was supposed to be taking this medical test that required a carbo load for 3 days after being on South Beach (very low carb) right? Well, I went for the test and was told that it was the following week. No one was there to administer the test to I had to come back the following week and re-do the carb load-- OY! So I was advised to not eat low carb and now I'm back at it! I'm so happy too because I did have some great weight results after week 1 I had lost weight and was getting used to the program. So yesterday was day 1 and today is day 2 and I feel hopeful!

Carbo Load - Day 3 - still sick
When the doctor's office called and told me that I had to carb load for 3 days, the words she said was a cheery "Have Fun!" In any other circumstance I might agree but somehow I think my body has become used to this low-carb eating and every time I go to eat a high carb food, I start to feel sick before, during and after eating! This AM we went to a place where I knew I could knock out a good portion of this carb fix and it was killer. I had to focus so I wouldn't vomit after... and think probably 6 months ago or less I would crave this delicious extravagant apple pancake. No more I guess. And last night, I was short on carbs so we went to a pie place to get something coz I couldn't bear to eat 2 cups of pasta and one pecan pie would do it given the sugar content. Same thing-- totally made me ill all night. Well at least I am almost done for today where carbs are concerned, I just need to bump up the protein since I've totally swung the other way on my crazy diet in order to take this test. I will be SO glad when I'm done tomorrow. I hope my system can take it for a few hours longer.

Carbo Load - Day 2
So yesterday I was supposed to carb load for this medical test (OGTT) and eat 300g carbs for the next 3 days. Funny enough, I was able to eat a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread and attempted old favorites like mac & cheese. However, after less than 6 bites the mac & cheese made my stomach churn and I was nauseous and sick all night long. I doubt I ate more than 100g of carbs total yesterday. Today I'm trying another approach and looking for gentle and somewhat good carbs like fruits, rice and sweet potatoes. My stomach is still tender but it's only 11AM and I have close to 100 carbs. Just 200 more to go! (I can't believe I'm excited about that) I just hope this doesn't kill my progress though-- I weighed myself this AM and it showed I lost 6 pounds since Friday! @futureathlete Thank you for the kind words! Your sister is indeed my inspiration! :) -t
