WHAT!
I just bought Running shoes and socks. And I went out... and I sort of ran. I did intervals of walking fast and jogging, and it was great. 40 minutes of it! This is really big to me. I had a lot of fun doing it, too.

Here comes the sun
The sun is out, weekends are nice, the days are getting longer. Making progress again. Trying to balance cardio and strength. I still can't really run, or at least I'm not going to keep trying until I consult with a pro since it causes some pain in my shins after not very long. No need to get hurt or anything. I can do some good walking though, and if I take just 5 or 10 jogging strides every now and then while walking it keeps my heart rate a good 20 or 30 bpm higher the entire time than if I were to just walk.

Feeling sick today
Starting to get a head cold; only took one walk at work today. Hope this doesn't keep up too long. Yesterday I bought a fitness ball, cheap yoga mat, and a small set of dumbbells. I improvised the fitness ball as a bench (which was my plan) to do dumbbell bench presses and triceps extensions for the first time. As my body moved during all of this, I could feel muscles I haven't worked in ages in my core moving, like a bear waking from hibernation. I'm having a lot of fun exercising! I think the only thing between me and better health is time.

Time to get into shape!
So, I am 21, weigh 300+ lbs, and am out of shape. I had never "worked out" before joining this site 3 weeks ago. The nutrition information has been pretty eye-opening, to say the least! I'm eating more, doing more, and losing weight already! I've been heavy my whole life except for 2 years in high school where I managed to drop a lot of my weight. I remember what it was like to run then, to have wind in my face when there was _no wind blowing_ , all because my feet were moving me. That is what is motivating me right now.
