UNIT 3 Comments
The average resting heart rate is about 70 bpm. The lower the RHR, the fitter the individual. For instance Lance Armstrong has a RHR between 32-34!! The more cardiovascular exercises you do, the lower the RHR becomes. As you can see, your RHR play a role in calculating your THR zone. However, your calculations are NOT correct. You forgot to add your RHR back in at the end. So 60% should have been 143; 70% at 156, etc. Re-calculate these again and then break each one down to a 10 sec. count (by dividing the THR by 6). Next time you do any cardio, do a quick 10-second heart rate check at different times in your workout and see if you stay in your 60-80% AEROBIC zone. Remember to keep tracking your exercises and nutrition, too!

Welcome to Gyminee
Hi Thomas! Based on what you wrote for your health goals, it looks like you want to focus a lot more attention towards your eating habits. This is good, because most people have a poor diet. Let's work together this semester to monitor your eating habits and learn how to make the best of your nutrition! :)
