I'm in the same situation
Hello untrachelable, I kind of fall in the same situation as you. I usually prefer not to have junk food at home because if I do, I start eating a little of everything I can, and then I stop. I really haven't been able to stop, but you just don't beat yourself, instead just try and focus on making up for what you just did. Example, you ate cookies with milk, ok no problem, but try to do that in mid-afternoon and at night just have a salad with chicken. You know what I mean? You NEED to satisfy your cravings, but try not to do that on the evenings. There's a lot to talk about, but first thing you need to do is not to feel bad, it's a small set back , but continue to do the right things so you can reach your goals. Also if you're just starting to workout, don't overdo it or else next day will be more difficult and so on, so try to gradually increase intensity. Yoga is a great workout, I did that about a year ago for like 4 - 6 months and loved it, but I had to let it go for other reasons. Well, this is long, I want to congratulate you for taking your decision that you want to make a change. I really want to lose about 10 - 20 pounds in the next 4 weeks for a BIG event coming in october :) we can work it out, just be consistent, that's what's most important. Talk to you later. Daniel

First Day
I find that a lot of times I tell myself - okay, on the first day of the month, the first day of the year, day after my birthday, etc... I will start a diet and exercise plan and stick to it. Then inevitably, that day comes and I do okay. Then the next day comes and I do a little worse. And so on and so on until by the end of the week I've set a new date to restart. So I finally restarted. The first day of fall. My first day back from vacation. Sort of sticking with old habits but I'm hoping that by actually keeping up with this site and posting and finding motivators, I'll actually be able to stick to this. I hear that writing down everything you eat helps too. Usually I write down everything I eat until I start to slip up. I stop writing out of shame. Well, I've decided to get over my shame and instead try working harder. Much harder. The day of what I am hoping to be my weight loss attempt that actually sticks started out pretty well. Woke up - ate a healthy breakfast. Went to work - drank lots of water and ate healthy throughout the day. Went to a yoga class even! But then when I got home, I just plopped down on the couch with some milk and cookies and ate until there were no more cookies. It seems that I just cannot be trusted around junk food. I don't know why I do it but I just eat until there's nothing left in the bag. It's true with storebought treats and homemade. When sweets aren't around, I seem to binge on healthy food. Eat a bagfull of carrots, a whole tub of yogurt, an entire bunch of bananas. I have no idea why I do it. What I do know is that in two years I gained twenty-eight pounds and I have got to put a stop to this. And hopefully by recognizing my problem and stating my goals and actions out in a concrete way, I'll be able to get through this.
