About Me
In 2009 I ditched the excuses and changed my lifestyle. Thanks to a long-term commitment to better nutrition and staying active, I went from being overweight and unfit (at my heaviest I was 163lb) down to around 130 and the best shape of my life. Along the way I ran my first half marathon and full marathon, beat a borderline eating disorder, fell in love with weightlifting, and gained a hell of a lot of respect for myself. Sure, I look better these days, but the greatest gift has been the transformation of my mindset: nowadays, I care a lot more about what my body can do, than what it looks like. I take good care of my body and it repays the favour. As of January 2012 I can run a 7 minute mile, squat well over my bodyweight, deadlift 220lb, and do a respectable job at most physical challenges thrown at me. I am living proof that you *can* go from fat to fit - you just have to stop thinking there's a magic pill that will get you there. Resist the siren call of today's obesogenic society, and commit to fueling and moving your body in the way it was designed. You *will* get the results you hope for, and so very much more.

Wassup
Happy new year to you as well! I hope you've enjoyed your time in Germany - my only trip to Germany landed me in Frankfurt and that placed sucked big time. The Kung Fu has been great; the school that I joined starts every class with 12 minutes of all out mayhem by the end of which I want to crawl up in a little ball and cry - that's got to be good for you :) Good luck with your marathon training, I'd like to do one of those one day but I imagine myself being pulled the whole way by a Roman style chariot - I'm guessing that's frowned upon.
