vdubgeek's Journal
Kicking it up
So, I'm still a newbie at lifting weights. I've proven to myself that I can stick to a routine, by consistently going to the gym 5 days a week for over 3 months straight. This is a big thing for me; when I was younger I would always get discouraged or distracted when I would try sticking to any sort of fitness regimen and would never stick to any routine for more than a month at most. Till now, I've been using primarily machines for my weight lifting, but as of this week I've begun adding in dumbbells and free weights to see if I can take things to the next level. If things go well, I'd like shift to primarily free weights as it seems this may be a better approach than using machines. Wish me luck!
