Back in the saddle again!
Joined StickK yesterday to put my money where my mouth is. My goal is to exercise 1 hour every day and stick to my nutritionist-created meal plan. Each week I miss a day I have to pay $100 to support the George W. Bush library!! Oh horror of horrors! That should keep me motivated! So far, so good. Walked the dogs for 45 mins this morning, had oatmeal for breakfast. Hoping the friend I chose to be my 'referee' on stickk.com will keep me in line. Also going to follow slaphappy155's advice about the snacks and checking in. Thanks slaphappy! I hope you visit again with more advice!

Hey - where did you go again?

Have your chocolate!
Best advice I can offer is that you be pro-active. Don't give yourself the opportunity to go schmoozing for muchies - LOAD YOUR DESK UP WITH THEM. Load up when you're not hungry and you're able to make wise choices. Personally I keep a collection of nuts, dried fruit, fresh fruit and chocolate at my desk. Enough to feed the entire office - but everything is pre-measured in 90-100 calories servings (I use those half ziplock bags). It's very easy to see then when you're about to hover in 500 calories in nuts! Sometimes I do that - but it's a very conscience decision. It's the eating without awareness that is the killer! As for chocolate, I buy it in bulk from Costco - 22 chocolate bars in a box - I barely get through one bar a week (and they are not very big). For me, I just need to know that IF I wanted chocolate it's right there for the taking - I don't have to make an effort to go find it. Somehow this helped curb my cravings a considerable amount. Also, I LOVE milk chocolate so I deliberately only by dark chocolate now. I still get my fix, but there isn't that desire to eat all of it at once. And only buy the GOOD STUFF - if you're going to have chocolate, then have REAL CHOCOLATE not that manufactured candy bar variety - YUCK! Just my two cents - based on what I finally learned about myself and my own triggers. In any case, glad to see you are back! Check in every day - even if you don't log anything at least see what others are up to - it helps keeps your goals in focus at least.

Ok, I'm back!
The uber-expensive lunch was not as bad as I feared, and the walking was fierce, so it was a decent day all in all. However, as you can see by the lack of posts and 'weigh-ins' I've been hiding under my bed. How did all this time go by already? I'm finding that my motivation drops off very quickly. I decided this morning to enlist the help of my office-mates. All chicks, so they know the drill. They've all agreed to slap my hands when I head over to the snack area or go schmoozing for munchies. Unfortunately I can't get the same treatment at home. I have one of those wonderful easy-going husbands who says 'OK dear' to everything. "You want chocolate cake? Ok dear". He'll even go get it for me. And the guy has one of those metabolisms where he can lay off ketchup for a week and lose ten pounds. GRRRRRRRR. So keep sending me those messages & motivations - I need 'em! And they really do help. After logging in tonight I'm feeling energized again!
