I really want to encourage you to try free weights. If you are losing weight and you still arent seeing lower body fat…your diet and routine could be causing your body to save fat and burn valuable muscle. Eating to support lean mass (get enough protein) and fat loss can be tricky. You may want to seek advice on a custom plan for eating and gym routine so that you can get the look you are wanting with optimal results in the least amount of trial and error as possible. :) You only get one life, definately seek someone who can hel p you! Good luck!

There is a thin wall of abdominals that you will see on the exterior that will give you that “six pack” look. Those you can hit about once a week…or if you are squatting and deadlifting you really dont need to hit them at all. :)
You will not see them until your body fat percentage is lower but TRUST me, if you build them up and out, if you have fat on top they will just appear larger and protruding more.
What I tell my clients to do is to work on their transverse abdominals instead.
Working on the transverse abdominals will pull your stomach muscles back in and strengthen that wall from the inside out! Giving you a flatter more appealing look! Meanwhile keep up your HIIT training and clean eating…they will show once you get down there in BF! :)
Here are a few excercises for the transverse: GOOGLE:
Planks
and
Vaccuums
Start with four or five sets of 30 seconds and work your way up to one minute. Once you are able to accomplish one minute of each set, add sets.
I hope that helps!

Actually, 1200 calories is too extreme for anyone. You need to learn other tactics besides calorie counting. You will lose vital energy on this program. Learn to eat wholesome foods, avoiding sugar is very good and use chia seeds to control your cravings. You can get a lot of good tips on my blog http://www.fatlostquickly.com

My original plan for this summer was going to complete Insanity for the second time, but my schedule at work has changed and during the week I literally have NO time for workout and leisure anything. So I’m looking for a quick workout routine that I can do Mon-Fri,Sat that I can complete in 15-40 mins and actually be effective. I have plenty of floor space, tension bands, dumbells of all different sizes, and a pull up bar. My idea is to do a mix of (ab ripper x, cardio abs, insane abs) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Before abs on MWF and for a full 15-40 mins on T,TH, I plan to fill that in with something. I’m not looking to lose any weight, just to tone up and stay in shape until my schedule changes so that I can jump right back into a second round of Insanity. Maybe a mixture of curls, pushups, squats(something of that sorts). If anyone can help with some ideas for the morning for me, I’d appreciate it. Maybe an example that you do. I’m already eating right and have my nutrition in gear.

You should focus on general fat loss first. You won’t see your abs (visibly pop out) until you’re well below 10% BF. You should maintain a strict diet, add plenty of cardio and resistance training and over time you will flatten the stomach and improve your abs. I used to work with a guy who had amazing abs. He never did a single crunch or sit-up. Just very strict diet and trained hard!

I love to eat food, but I am not a fan of fast food companies because they offer unhealthy food. On the other hand, we must admit that fast food companies offer a tempting and delicious food we can savor for the rest of our life with just little penny to spend for, but the danger will be our precious health. We must be aware that fast food companies created the modern convenience of cheap, quick, heavily processed food and we all know that our body doesn’t need food that contains more fat, calories and sugar that could lead us to a serious health problems.

I never do cardio anymore except for the morning walk but even then I toss in metabolic jogs. My opinion would be getting you a good weight lifting program. I would recommend few of the new rules of lifting programs. Metabolic workout are a lot funnier than cardio and weight lifting helps reshape your body faster and makes you look like you lost more weight than what scale you decided.

You need to burn fat. Its a case of watching your calorie intake and taking enough exercise through cardio and resistance training. Over time you will find that you start to burn fat. You cannot spot reduce (burn fat from one particualr area) but over time you will find your stomach will flatten out. You just need to stick with it.

“I know cardio is the best way to lose weight, but is it best to lose weight then start to tone?”

Actually resistance training is just as good for helping you burn fat. It adds muscle which will help your body’s metabolism. If I was you I would speak to a trainer at your gym and ask them for a program.

Hello,
I would start with Waist Whittler exercise, to start this you need to get down on the floor and get into a posture like you are about to do a push-up. Now, pull up your left knee in a manner to touch your left elbow. This will help you for matching up the knee and elbow on the similar side of the body. After this, put your foot back on the floor. Alternatively do this exercise for other side of the body.

Have you looked into your school’s gym to see if they offer classes you could maybe take? Or maybe trying out exercise videos? I find exercise videos to be more beneficial to me because I can do that at my own time when they fit my schedule. I started with P90x which I love so far because I am working all parts of my body to get toned. It has 12 workouts with include everything from cardio, to yoga, and even weight training. Here is a little clip I found that gives you an example of some of the moves you do and what it’s all about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIyjnyHj1mk

I would start with some cardio like running or swimming and some mild weight training. Make sure you supplement your exercising with some high protein foods so you don’t risk losing any weight.

Sleep is very important in health. It helps you stay energized throughout your day, it helps you get the most out of your workouts, and it even helps regulate your metabolism. I think 8 hours of sleep per night is good for most people.
