Recipe Description

This is a turkey chili with three types of beans and lots of veggies, herbs and spices.This is a turkey chili with three types of beans and lots of veggies, herbs and spices.

Ingredients
2 pounds lean ground turkey
1 (29 ounce) can (whole peeled or crushed) tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 diced tomato
1 diced jalapeno pepper (without seeds)
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper (without seeds)
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper (without seeds)
1/4 cup chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 cups canned red beans, drained and rinsed
1 cups canned black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cups canned pink beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup of cilantro (optional)

 

  1. Place ground turkey in a large, deep skillet and cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown.
  2. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
  3. Add all ingredients to a large kettle and bring to boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add cilantro before serving (optional).
  6. Serve with shredded cheese and sour cream (optional)
